Archi’s Institute for Sustainable Agriculture (AiSA) expresses its sincere gratitude to Stand for the Troops (SFTT) for their unwavering commitment and generous support. This partnership, and SFTT’s dedication to our veterans, is commendable and invaluable in helping them forge successful careers in the agricultural sector.

About Stand for the Troops

SFTT is an exceptional organization supporting military personnel and veterans. Their mission focuses on the well-being of America’s military, particularly connecting veterans with effective Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) treatments. SFTT champions innovative, non-pharmaceutical therapies, recognizing the limits of traditional methods. A Task Force of experts identifies and shares effective treatments, enabling replication through trusted providers nationwide. SFTT also supports TBI and PTSD research via partnerships like their work with the New York State Psychiatric Institute (NYSPI). All fundraising supports veterans and their families impacted by TBI and PTSD, funding holistic treatments like organic farming and service dog assistance.

A Legacy of Service: Honoring Colonel David “Hack” Hackworth

SFTT was co-founded by the valor-decorated Colonel David “Hack” Hackworth, a champion for frontline warriors. His career spanned numerous conflicts, from enlisting at 15 to becoming the youngest Army captain in Korea. Despite his court-martial for speaking frank about the Vietnam War, Hackworth remained a powerful voice for soldiers, advocating for military reform and their well-being. SFTT reflects his lifelong commitment to supporting service members, especially those suffering from the invisible wounds of war. His passion inspires SFTT’s mission and work with organizations like AiSA, providing veterans resources to thrive and fostering innovative healing approaches that empower them to find new purpose.

Why AiSA Values its Partnership with SFTT

AiSA deeply values its partnership with SFTT. We share a commitment to empowering veterans and building a sustainable future. SFTT’s support aligns perfectly with AiSA’s mission to provide accessible, high-quality sustainable agriculture education. Together, we’re transforming veterans’ lives and enriching agriculture. SFTT’s generosity enables AiSA to reach more veterans, opening doors to new opportunities and fulfilling careers. The success of veteran-owned farms and food businesses, supported by SFTT and AiSA, showcases this impactful collaboration.

How Veterans Flourish Through This Collaboration

AiSA and SFTT provide a robust on-ramp to sustainable agriculture careers for veterans. AiSA’s comprehensive programs (both online and on-site) equip veterans with the expertise and skills required to excel in organic farming and related enterprises. Critically, SFTT’s generous funding is key to unlocking these opportunities. These grants alleviate the burden of tuition costs for programs like those at AiSA, removing a substantial financial obstacle. SFTT’s backing, combined with AiSA’s instruction, creates a potent force, enabling veterans to not only acquire knowledge but also secure the financial means to realize their agricultural aspirations. This combined strength allows veterans to launch and expand thriving agricultural ventures.

Cultivating a Thriving Future, Together

Our alliance with SFTT fuels a vital movement toward a more sustainable, food-secure future. SFTT’s support of veteran farmers, including those with disabilities, cultivates a new generation of agricultural leaders. These resilient veterans bring unique strength to the forefront, proving that disability doesn’t mean being out of the fight. By supporting them in agriculture, we address the aging farmer population and bolster environmentally sound practices and resilient local food networks essential for future food security. We are profoundly thankful to SFTT for their partnership in this crucial endeavor.
