Q: How does this program work?
AiSA, partnered with the University of Minnesota, offers veterans structured online and in-person agribusiness training, similar to how other college and vocational programs work. For online learners, optional hands-on labs are available and can be scheduled even after graduation.
Q: Do the 6- and 12-week formats differ?
A: Our 6-week intensive program is perfect for veterans who can focus full-time on their agricultural education. The 12-week option offers identical curriculum and college credits but is paced for those balancing work or family commitments.
Q: What aid is available to start a farm?

Q: Does this help with FSA loans?
A: Yes, our Agribusiness program is an officially approved program that fulfills the educational criteria for FSA Farm Operating Loans. We’ve developed a comprehensive curriculum focused on farm business management, ensuring you gain the knowledge and skills needed to succeed and secure FSA agricultural loans.
Q: Is the program 100% online?
A: Yes, with the exception of our dedicated on-farm course option, the entire curriculum is delivered 100% online. You’ll access all classes through Zoom and find your course materials on the Canvas learning platform. This digital approach gives you the flexibility to complete your agricultural education from anywhere – whether you’re stationed overseas, working full-time, or already setting up your future farm.
Q: What’s the total instruction time?
A: Both our 6- and 12-week programs deliver approximately 240 hours of comprehensive agricultural instruction. This translates to 16 valuable semester credits – essentially completing a three-unit college course every week during the intensive format. If you choose the 12-week program, you’ll cover identical material but with a more manageable weekly pace.
Q: What is the refund policy?
A: We understand that circumstances can change. For a full tuition refund, please withdraw before the first day of class. After the first day, tuition refunds are not provided. Please note, a $150 registration fee from the University of Minnesota Crookston (UMN) applies to withdrawals within two weeks of the start date, covering essential record-keeping. Students are responsible for full tuition costs. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact us.
