The Hawai’i Department of Agriculture’s Micro-Grant for Food Security Program offers grants up to $5,000 for individuals and $10,000 for organizations to support small-scale gardening, herding, and livestock operations. With Oahu boasting the highest number of farms in any U.S. county, the local agricultural scene is thriving. Veterans can also tap into established farmers’ markets and Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs for direct-to-consumer sales.
