Your Next Mission?

Fort Leavenworth is situated in a region with significant agricultural potential. Kansas, known as the “Wheat State,” boasts a robust agricultural sector that contributes substantially to its economy. The state has 58,569 farms covering approximately 88% of its land area, with an average farm size of 781 acres. Kansas ranks first in grain sorghum production, growing almost 64% of the nation’s crop, and leads in winter wheat production with more than 23% of the national output. In 2023, Kansas’s corn production was forecast at 632 million bushels, up 24% from the previous year, with a yield of 124 bushels per acre. The state also excels in livestock production, ranking third nationally in cattle production with 6,450,000 head. This agricultural abundance, combined with Fort Leavenworth’s strategic location and historical significance as the “Post that opened the West”, creates a fertile environment for agribusiness ventures to thrive, leveraging both traditional farming practices and innovative agricultural technologies.
