AiSA Alumni & Veteran Farmers: Don’t Miss Your Chance to Apply for the Zero Foodprint Restore Grant

We’re thrilled to share an incredible opportunity for you to take your sustainable farming practices to the next level! The Zero Foodprint Restore Grant is now accepting applications through February 19, 2025. This program offers grants ranging from $1,500 to $25,000 to support regenerative agriculture projects that sequester carbon and improve soil health. As part of the AiSA community, you are uniquely positioned to leverage this funding and continue leading the way in sustainable farming.

Why You Should Apply

The Restore Grant empowers farmers and ranchers like you to implement climate-smart practices that benefit both your farm and the planet. Whether it’s compost application, cover cropping, or managed grazing, this funding can help turn your vision into reality while contributing to a healthier environment.Here’s what makes this grant special:

  • Maximum Funding: Up to $25,000 per project.
  • Technical Assistance Covered: Costs for Technical Assistance Providers are included in addition to the grant amount.
  • No Carbon Farm Plan Required: A carbon farm or conservation plan is not mandatory for eligibility.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the Restore Grant, you must:

  1. Be producing food for human consumption on agricultural land.
  2. Include at least one approved management practice in your application (see guidelines).
  3. Work with a Technical Assistance Provider (required).
  4. Provide property owner approval or proof of land management rights.
  5. Have completed project validation if you’ve received a prior Restore grant.

Note: You cannot exceed a lifetime maximum of $75,000 in Restore grants.

Selection Process

Grants are awarded based on the cost-effectiveness of carbon sequestration, calculated as “Cost per Ton” of CO2e removed. Projects with lower costs per ton are prioritized, so be sure to work closely with your Technical Assistance Provider to make your application competitive.

Timeline

  • Application Deadline: February 19, 2025
  • Award Notifications: By late March 2025
  • Project Implementation: Must be completed within 12 months of the contract date

  1. Review the Restore Grant Guidelines.
  2. Determine which practices you want to implement and obtain a quote from a Technical Assistance Provider.
  3. Submit your application by February 19, 2025.
