Our six-week intensive program combines practical farm training with real-world business skills so you can launch or expand your operation fast. Approved for GI Bill® and Military Tuition Assistance.
Apply for AiSA’s Veteran’s Sustainable Agriculture (VSAT) Program and get details on upcoming classes, scholarships, and how to turn your passion for sustainability into a business.
The VSAT Program is approved for multiple military education benefits including the GI Bill®, Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment (VR&E), and MyCAA. Program tuition is $6,458.00 — approximately 2 months of VA education benefits — and most veterans cover this at zero out-of-pocket cost.
Transitioning service members attending through DoD SkillBridge must still cover tuition through educational benefits, an SFTT or FVC grant, or self-pay. Not sure which option applies? Our team will walk you through it during your application review.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Cohorts fill quickly — apply today to secure your spot.
Work directly on operating farms and agribusiness facilities — not just in a classroom.
Build your agribusiness plan, understand financials, and learn to access capital and USDA grants.
Every student is paired with a successful veteran agripreneur who has walked the same path.
Our team navigates GI Bill, VR&E, SFTT grants, and MyCAA so you don’t leave money on the table.
Join 500+ AiSA alumni working in agriculture across the country — a community that opens doors.
If you complete the VSAT Program with full participation and do not feel equipped to launch or join an agribusiness operation, we will work with you until you do. We are invested in your success beyond graduation.
We built this program because we believe veterans are the future of American agriculture. That belief drives everything we do.

This program is designed for transitioning military service members, veterans, and military spouses who want to enter the agribusiness industry. No farming background is required — just a willingness to learn and work hard.
Not at all. Our curriculum is built from the ground up assuming no prior agriculture knowledge. Many of our most successful graduates came from infantry, signal, logistics, and other non-agricultural military occupational specialties.
Program tuition is $6,458.00 (approximately 2 months of VA education benefits). The VSAT Program is approved for GI Bill® (Chapter 30, 33), Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment (VR&E / Chapter 31), and MyCAA (for eligible military spouses). Transitioning service members may participate through DoD SkillBridge, but SkillBridge does not cover tuition — participants must still pay through educational benefits, an SFTT or FVC grant, or self-pay.
The standard cohort runs approximately 6–10 weeks depending on the track. Our training schedule is intensive and hands-on, designed to mirror the rigor of military training environments.
Core field training is conducted in person at our partner farm and agribusiness sites. Some business and planning modules are available in a hybrid format. We strongly encourage full in-person participation for maximum benefit.
Graduates go on to launch their own farms, agribusiness ventures, and consulting operations, or to take roles in agricultural supply chains, food distribution, USDA agencies, and veteran-owned cooperatives.
We intentionally keep cohorts small — typically 12 to 18 students — to ensure every participant receives personalized mentorship and direct instructor access.
Our admissions team will review your application and reach out within 3–5 business days to schedule a brief intake call. We use this call to assess your goals, confirm funding eligibility, and match you with the right cohort.
There is no post-program service commitment. Once you graduate, you are a member of the AiSA alumni network for life — with access to ongoing mentorship, job board, and community events.
Cohort seats are limited. Join the veterans who chose to grow — in every sense of the word.
100% military funding available • No farming experience required • Limited cohort sizes
